Used 1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong Lucite Electric Guitar
The radical acrylic body and killer humbucker sound made the original Dan Armstrong Lucite guitars some of the most sought-after instruments in rock history, and this vintage 1969 example shows us why! The Lucite body is bolted to a comfortable Maple neck that’s topped with a stunning piece of Brazilian Rosewood. The Formica pickguard is topped with a faux-Rosewood veneer and combines with the brown plastic humbucker for a unified look. The three-position toggle switch provides some atypical sounds, from an in-your-face all-controls-bypassed tone, to a “cocked-wah” tone that’s perfect for rhythm. The middle position engages the master Volume and Tone controls for access to all of the other sounds you desire! This instrument is in overall very good vintage condition, with player’s wear as would be expected in an instrument of this age. The bridge was replaced with a direct-fit pre-intonated model, and the nut was replaced with a brass model for more high-end presence. The original hardshell case is included here, however the interior is in fair condition with some damage to the liner as shown in the photographs.
