1969 Gibson Byrdland Sunburst
This is a 1969 Gibson Byrdland model in a sunburst finish, built with beautiful flame maple back and sides as well as the same wood for the neck. The guitar has been a player throughout its life, and it shows in a refretted board, changed nut, finish wear, and tarnishing to the hardware.
There are some finish issues throughout: there are lacquer cracks, scuffs and what look like case burn from a coil cable on the back of the body. There are some signs that there was exposure to moisture as there are small mold spots on the inside of the back and small cracks around the back. Cosmetics considered: the guitar looks like it has a story or two to tell, and still plays very nicely. We’ve set it up with flatwound strings and it’s good to go for years of more play time.
