Gibson Southern Jumbo Sunburst 1949
It’s always nice to find a vintage acoustic guitar that just oozes magic. This 1949 Gibson Southern Jumbo has stopped everyone in their tracks at the Zoo, and for good reason with its played-in vibes and booming, but still crystal clear tone. The guitar is crack-free, with wear patterns throughout the body from being played over the years. It is identifiable by its factory order number (2228-15). Service on the guitar includes a neck set, a refret with vintage size fret wire, and it appears to have had different tuners installed at one point, but period-correct tuners are back on. There is a strap button at the neck heel. The guitar has wonderful intonation when playing chords up on the neck, and is ready to be played for years to come!
