Hamer Standard Refin and Re-Topped Sunburst 1981
This beauty of an instrument is a vintage 1981 Hamer Standard with a flamed maple top over a mahogany body with a set-construction mahogany neck. The Hamer Standard is one of those guitars that’s got a “you know it when you see it” shape that really stands out from the rest of the pack – this one especially with its super thin but well defined flames going through the maple. The guitar has been re-topped and refinished at the Hamer factory: this Standard started its life with a green finish and had a Kahler tremolo on it at one point, when a previous owner sent it back to get restored to what it might have looked like out of the factory originally. In 2012 Hamer put a brand new flame maple top on the guitar along with new binding and a tobacco burst finish. The guitar has newer DiMarzio humbuckers and includes a non-original case, and not to mention – it’s a fantastic player in excellent condition.
