Supro 1610RT Comet 1×10 Electric Guitar Combo Amplifier
This is the Supro 1610 Comet, a low wattage 1×10” combo with onboard tube tremolo and reverb that can be switched from 14 watts to a lower 6 with a flick of a toggle switch. The preamp found in the Comet delivers warm, blooming clean tones up until 12-o-clock on the volume knob. Past noon, the Comet’s voice rolls over into Supro crunch, giving way to a singing, violin-like overdrive at full volume. The Comet is remarkably high-gain for a vintage flavored amp and it nails that sweet-spot without being too loud for comfort.
It’s a great amp for those seeking classic Garage Rock tones, with an output level that’s perfect for small gigs and the six watts especially sounds nice in the studio to get the tubes singing at a volume that won’t put the mics into submission. The Comet is dressed in 1959 Supro cosmetics, with Black Rhino Hide tolex, black piping, white welting and a gold faceplate.
