Used 2006 D’Angelico MIJ New Yorker 17M Electric Guitar Sunburst
This 2006 D’Angelico New Yorker 17M is a unique model and an interesting rare guitar. Between about 2002 and 2005, D’Angelicos were made at the electronics giant Vestax’s factory in Japan. This 2006 example is also made in Japan, but does not have a Vestax label – it was made in Nagoya, Japan. Despite some interesting “transitional” confusion about the exact origin, this is a wonderfully crafted solid wood archtop made by serious Japanese craftsmen. It’s a very nice full-size 17″ hollowbody archtop with a solid carved German spruce top, flame maple back and sides, a figured maple neck with ebony fingerboard, a single Kent Armstrong humbucker in the neck position, a solid ebony floating bridge, D’Angelico stairstep tailpiece, and Grover Imperial tuners. This guitar is in very good condition – it does have some surface scratches and swirling/buffing marks throughout the guitar that can only be seen under direct light, but otherwise it’s extremely clean with no major signs of use. It plays and sounds great and includes the original hardshell case!
