Used ’60s Gretsch 6162 2×10 Tube Guitar Combo Amplifier
This super cool Gretsch 6162 amp is a Valco build from the early ’60s. The circuit in this one is similar to the Supro 1605 Reverb – lots of times you can find identical Supro versions of many Gretsch amps! One of the more coveted Valco-made amps, and also known as the “Dual Twin”, this 6162 features two 10″ Jensen speakers, tube tremolo and spring reverb, and a pair of 6973 power tubes that produce a nice and sweet 18 watts. Some would consider these tubes a “better” 6V6. This amp is great for swampy blues, not a ton of volume, but plenty of tone! It’s also tube rectified with a 5U4 and features a 12AX7 preamp. This amp has been serviced and is working great! It’s in good condition for it’s age, with no out of the ordinary signs of wear. Due to it’s age, it is sold as is.
