Eastwood DEVO Whip It Red
This is the DEVO Whip It guitar from Eastwood Guitars: a tribute to the instrument that DEVO guitarist Bob Bob1 Mothersbaugh played in the video for the aforementioned song. These Eastwood guitars are modeled after originals that were customized by Bob1 during the time DEVO was working on their Freedom Of Choice album in 1979/1980. Bob wasn’t a professional at customization and it is interesting to note that these were Frankensteined by guys who were – like their music – just inspired to do something different than the norm. The guitar has a set-neck construction with a mahogany body and two humbucking pickups. The guitar only has very light play wear around the body!
